Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 3rd-grade students come to school every day full of enthusiasm to learn. Our school is a STEAM academy elementary school. It is located in a low-income neighborhood and students come to us from all over. Our school gives our inquisitive students a chance to be creative, engineer, work with technology and excel in learning!
Third grade is the year that students start to become more responsible and independent and some of them need a little help with organization skills.
They have lots of materials that we use throughout the day, like notebooks, folders, and reading books but sometimes find it difficult to organize their things. I love teaching them these skills and helping them become more independent learners.
My Project
Currently, my students have to store all of their materials under their desks. Their desks then become very untidy, it is hard for them to find their materials quickly and this makes transitions from lesson to lesson slower. It also makes moving tables a time-consuming task!
Help me to teach my students to become more independent and more organized!
Providing them with an individual tray to store all of their materials will help them to organize and find their materials much more easily! Also, help them learn to share and organize their pens, pencils, crayons and other art supplies through the desk caddies! We can't wait to organize our desks so that we can organize our brains!!
