This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 100% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is one of 5 low performing schools in our county. My students speak various languages. They are very diverse economically and academically. At the beginning of the school year, students are supposed to be reading and comprehending on a level E. My students will be on various levels. We will be building a small family that will work on loving and respecting one another. As always I will love each and every one of them and only want the best for them!
My Project
My students are producing more exceptional work than we can store and the only place to keep their work is in folders placed in their book baskets! With the 10 drawer mobile organizer I can store their centers, classwork and homework and they can retrieve it and have a drawer under it to place work when they need more time. The Construction Paper Storages will be used to put their Math, Literacy Centers and Classwork folders in and will help them become more organized because those folders will have a specific place. Right now all of their content work is going in one place. The Organization Station pocket chart will help to store their completed work for everything. I believe students who learn organization skills at an early age will be more successful academically in the future. The Helping Hands Pocket Chart will helps student see what their leadership opportunity is for the week and help everyone knows what their responsibility is. The Calendar pocket chart will give them an opportunity to lead calendar time and access the day, month and year. So far this year, I assign jobs verbally and write the date on the board. Now students can be part of this learning experience!
