My school is a K-5 building with just over 320 students in attendance. My students come from many different backgrounds with diverse learning needs. I have been teaching for many years. They come to me with many learning needs. Kindergarten is the first time they are in a formal school setting and they love to learn.
The Kindergartners are curious, enthusiastic, creative and very excited to be here.
They are very interested in technology and want to learn in many different ways. We love to try new things and are always looking for new innovative ideas to bring into our classroom.
My Project
The materials we use, help to reach all different types of learners. It is helpful to have a place to store all manipulatives that will be used for centers.
We do math and literacy centers, so this is a space to organize all of the manipulatives.
This will allow me to organize per student group as well as keeping Math and Literacy centers separate.
We will also use the flexible seating spot circles to help keep us focused while sitting on the reading rug during our literacy lessons. The carpet spots help us with spatial awareness as well as help us respect others space.
