I teach about 20 students in my homeroom class and around 60 overall. Our 5th grade students are departmentalized for each subject and I primarily teach mathematics.
I see my classroom as a place where children should be able to discover all the wonderful things about the world we live in.
My students are from a rural area and come from many diverse backgrounds. My goals in the classroom are to foster a loving environment, rich in curiosity and respect. My students know from day one that they are important and valuable and that my goal for them is to help them become the best people and members of society they can be.
My Project
This is only my second year teaching and so far my classroom has been created off of what I could find at garage sales, hand me downs from other teachers, and whatever I could get inexpensively at walmart. My classroom is needing more storage so that everything can be well organized to create an environment conducive to focusing on learning. I
am in need of a rolling supply cart because I will be teaching math in multiple classrooms and need a way to move manipulatives and supplies quickly and efficiently.
The set of wireless mice is so that my students can spend more time engaged in learning with their computer activities and less time struggling to use the technology we have.
