Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a high poverty, Title I school in a suburb of Chicago. The majority of students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Our student population is very diverse, including students with special needs and English language learners, as well as typical learning students.
My classroom is full of excited students that love to be challenged and have a passion for learning and technology.
They embrace new experiences, work together, and encourage each other. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.
My Project
We would love to have a way to organize our classroom materials. By providing them with labeled drawers, it will teach my students a system for storing supplies and will allow for independence when they need to retrieve, utilize and put away their materials.
These materials are more than just convenience; they are necessities!
These items will not only teach them organizational skills but life skills as well, by making these baskets a part of our routines and procedures. We have limited space in our classroom, and these units will provide the much needed organizational supplies that will impact the type of students that I teach. My students would also be thrilled to have a couple of games to play during these long, cold, winter months. Any help is truly appreciated.
