My students love coming to school! They quickly realize we provide a safe learning environment with a consistent routine designed to their specific needs. Our classroom provides the foundation to all of their future learning experiences!
My students all have special needs and all are preschoolers ages 3 to 5.
They have been identified as having delays in their cognitive abilities, speech, physical skills, social skills, and or self-help skills. Their needs vary greatly, and they each have individual goals. Our school is considered high poverty and many receive a sack lunch to take home on the weekends.
My Project
These materials will help our room become organized and therefore help our students become more independent. The classroom keeper, will allow me to organize students work for the week, as each student needs differentiated work. The wall charts will help display standards and organize pictures for picture schedules. The baskets will also help organize student's work at stations. The puzzles will provide practice on number order, which can be guided practice with a teacher or eventually independent work.
Our classroom will be incorporating an approach to organization and learning that has been proven successful for students with autism and other learning challenges.
These items will help our students become independent. Independence builds confidence and leads to a classroom that functions well!
