My students are a very diverse population. Many of these children are going to school for the first time. There is one English Language Learners in my classroom. There are also two identified ESE students and a few are already receiving behavior counseling. They are excited to be in school and ready to face any obstacles to meet expectations.
Our school is a high needs school.
Many of my students are considered to be disadvantaged children and come from families living in adverse conditions. At least one of my students is considered to be homeless. For some of these children, school is the safest place to be.
My Project
Our classroom needs organization to help us develop our writing skills. When a classroom is organized, it helps everything flow more smoothly. Our teacher will organize our small group materials in the 10 drawer organizers in order to teach us our writing skills. When the classroom is organized, there is more time to teach!
Writing journals will help us develop our writing skills throughout the school year.
We will begin writing in our journals from the first day of school, and watch our abilities grow as the school year progresses. At the end of the year, we will have a keepsake to remember how much we improved from the first day of kindergarten.
