This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students will be wonderful first graders who get to experience departmentalization for the first time at a young age. They are enthusiastic learners and have the ability to accomplish great things, but the reality is that their socioeconomic status strips away that opportunity, due to lack of resources. This puts them at an academic disadvantage compared to their more affluent peers. I love that my students come everyday ready to work, listen, and learn despite the circumstance! They deserve quality materials both inside and outside of the classroom just as any child should. Any donation that is made to our classroom is greatly appreciated and will make a tremendous difference in my students' success!
My Project
Within my math classroom, we will be touching and using a lot of math manipulative. The materials will ensure my students are exposed to a clean and organized room to help keep away germs. The younger they are the more prone they are of getting sick, and make sure that doe does not spread to other students and myself the Clorox wipes and tissues, and even the broom will come in handy.
Additionally, give students the opportunity to work with materials to be organized, organization is a key component to becoming an adult.
If things are all over the place, they will not get the opportunity to learn effectively. Those things will become distractions, so things like the bins will pave way for the distractions to remove itself.
