Our school is nestled in a community in the middle of a large urban school district, where over 95% of the students receive free or reduced lunch due to poverty.
They are fun loving kids, who enjoy learning and being at school.
They love to read and being around others.
This last year I was the campus visiting instructional specialist working in K-2 grade classrooms. I loved every minute of it. They inspired back in me a passion for education and love for teaching.
This year my class and I will be looping with each other up to 3rd grade. There are considerably more text books, journals and notebooks for us to use. We are also receiving all new curriculum that we are required to use. This means we need shelves to organize our materials instead of putting them on the floor.
Not only will they help keep us organized but it will also eliminate wasted instructional time in retrieving our materials.
This is critical with all that is needed to teach with such little time.
Our class is asking for 1 shelving unit per group of 4 students and 1 cubbie system for all other materials like books, stuffed reading buddies and literacy stations.
