My Project

I am a first-year teacher at a title 1 high school in rural Kentucky. 95% of our students are from low-income families. All of my students are freshmen and have high energy! I teach Algebra 1 and feel it is important to get my students out of their seats during our 90-minute classes. I try very hard to accomplish this, but moving around would be much easier on the students if I could provide them with clipboards.

As a first-year teacher, I desperately need ways to organize my classroom.

I have gathered hand-me-downs from any teacher in my school willing to pass useful items along and my room is about as tidy as I can get it without adding a few key items. You will notice wall pockets and a paper stacker to keep papers straight and supply caddies to hold colored pencils, highlighters, scissors, and all of our math tools.

Lastly, my desk is a mess! I have a drawer where every extra pencil, paper clip and so many things in between have found their way too. To combat this issue, I have included a set of drawers on my list.
