My classroom is a safe haven for many of my students. Each student in my room has a behavior that causes them problems in a regular classroom setting. It is my job to make them feel safe, secure and at home in my room. With giving them a place to store their belongings, this would be solved.
I work with about twenty five students daily.
Each of my students have behavior issues that have landed them in the most restrictive environment. My school is known in my town as "where they send the bad kids," but it is definitely far from that. These kids are loving, caring, and amazing kids. They just need extra guidance and love to get there. We all have been through different experiences that have shaped us to be the people we are today. I hope to shape these students and help them become great members of our society.
My Project
The materials that I have requested will aid in storage in the classroom. Our school is an old state hospital that does not have rooms that are conducive to a learning environment. There is not a place for my students to store any belongings. This vertical storage area would allow for more workspace by keeping the room picked up for the students. The classroom would be less cluttered and more organized. This would help me to teach the children organization as well.
Donations to this project will give my students an opportunity to witness charity to them, showing them that people outside of our school do care for them.
It will give my students the opportunity to learn organization and charity for others.
