My kindergarten students are curious, empathetic, energetic and excited to learn! We need some help with organization to help our classroom function at its best.
Our school is a free, K-8 public charter school in a farm setting that serves students in the areas around Scappoose and St.
Helens, as well as the Portland-area. We are a small school with only one class per grade. We offer enriched place-based education, which means we integrate traditional academic learning with the natural environment. As a charter we only receive 80% of the funding that is awarded to traditional public schools, so we are constantly looking for ways to close the funding gaps.
Thanks to incredible support from families and the community, an annual auction and other fundraisers help raise needed monies. My classroom budget went quickly on consumable items, and I would really like to enhance the classroom with these requested items.
I thank you for considering donating to our gem of a small school!
My Project
This ask is specifically to help us run literacy instruction run more smoothly. With your help, we are hoping to add some key items to the classroom.
We need a quality easel and user-friendly places to store literacy items--kid-user-friendly--that is!
This includes bins for the games and activities that correspond to the skills we are working on at that moment in time.
As the students' skills move along, I set aside the materials for next year's group and introduce the new games as the kids learn and practice new skills. It's a lot to track and organize, but it is essential to doing targeted work. The requested items would make all this happen so much more easily. Thank you for considering this!
