My students need shelving to hold all of our materials. In addition, I would like a chair so my reading area is comfortable for both me and my students.
Benjamin Franklin once said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn."
In my class, I try to involve my students in their learning.
I strongly believe that all students can learn and I try to portray that to my students. I am moving schools next year for the first time in over 5 years and I want to make sure we have everything we need to be successful. I like my class to be colorful, inviting, focused and fun while my students learn.
My new school is in a high-poverty area where most students come in below-level so I want to give them anything and everything I can so they are able to have an advantage at school.
My Project
The items I chose for my classroom are good in various ways. First, to have a designated chair for me to read to my students will be comfortable so I can read consistently. The shelving is for all of the materials we need to run the classroom and be organized while we are at it. Students are responsible to get their own materials, which helps them for their entire future.
My students loved the flexible seating I started last year, it allowed them to pick where they wanted to sit to work.
The stools will allow my students pick a higher table without using standard primary chairs.
