My Students

The thing that I admire most about my students is their compassion and inclusiviity towards one another. In education one of the most commonly used phrases to say to your students is, “different people need different things”, as an explanation for why learning looks different in the classroom. Rather than question why that is, my students have embraced the idea that learning looks different. They support each other academically, socially, and emotionally. They celebrate each other’s victories and are quick to model/assist in helping everyone reach success.

My Project

We all struggle with organization - either we’re obsessed with organizing or can’t stay organized. These filing materials will help my students develop their own idea of organization and time management skills as well as promote a sense of independence in the classroom by allowing students to take ownership of their own paperwork. Organization is an essential life skill and children should begin to develop a sense of organization at a young age. The filing system will also help ease anxiety that often follows dismissal and going home as students can access paperwork as needed throughout the day.
