Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a wonderfully diverse group of 4th grade students in an urban magnet elementary school. Our school is a Title I school with 65% receiving free and reduced lunch. We are a large school but an amazing close-knit community. We love to learn and have fun while doing it!
I have been blown away by how my students have adjusted so well to all-day, in-person learning!
Being on Zoom all year really did affect all of us in different ways but being back in the classroom has been exactly what we needed. They are committed and work hard to be the best scholars they can be. I want to be able to provide the most comfortable but challenging classroom environment for them. They are constantly pushing me to be the best educator I can be.
My Project
We are completely into the swing of things here in our room! We are learning a lot and having fun in the process but we need more space to be organized, creative, and work more comfortably.
We would love to have sturdy book bags to keep our books safe and also back of the chair organizers so that our desks can be completely cleared off and clutter-free!
This will allow us to be organized and do art projects, science experiments, use technology, read and complete classwork with comfort and ease.
