My students are a prime example of the melting pot that is our country, as they represent over 30 different countries in my three classes! Just like the great variety in our backgrounds my students come to 6th grade with a great variety in their ability to read in dependently. Some of my students are reading by themselves at an 8th grade level while others struggle through 3rd grade passages.
My students are enthusiastic and passionate about their learning, and crave the opportunity to discover new things for themselves.
My Project
These storage and organization items will help my students have a better classroom environment. They will allow my students to have consistent places to turn in materials and work during class. The rolling storage cart will be used as a place for students to turn in work when they are finished during class, and to hold various materials that students need to access at different points in time during class ( glue, colors, scissors ect.) Given the small size of my classroom and my large class size these products will create storage options for student materials as well. The bookshelves will hold textbooks, dictionaries and my classroom library.
With these storage solutions my students will be able to work independently, be less disruptive during independent work time, and allow them more responsibility in keeping our classroom tidy.
The new bookshelves will allow my students to have access to my classroom library. This is a collection of books I have bought through out the years, and students are allowed to choose a book of their own interest, read at their own pace and simply for enjoyment!
