My students need organizers for student work; rolling storage carts, compartment sorters, and caddies.

I have just accepted a position in Philadelphia. I have not met my fourth graders. I am, however, familiar with the community and the richness of its diversity! My career began in Chicago teaching fourth grade before becoming an Elementary Principal, giving away all my teaching materials. I am now excited to finish out my career in education as I go back to an urban classroom where I know I am most needed. I visited my fourth grade classroom, which consisted of four walls/desks. All children deserve engaging college ready systems of learning; this will be my financial challenge in setting up my classroom.
Fourth graders are curious eager learners who thrive on technological avenues of learning.
They’re challenged and motivated with engaging hands-on lessons, helping them make meaning of life outside the classroom and connecting them with local and global learning. Fourth graders are more aware of the benefits of taking risks and taking responsibility for their own learning and that of their peers. Needed, are engaging collaborative tools and motivational learning systems that a 21st century classroom should provide. Their classroom WILL be filled with vibrant, organized and engaging learning that will be culturally inclusive, warm and inviting.
Students need organizational systems for basic classroom routines. Creating systems for work stations, centers, ongoing project work, daily exchange of paperwork and the use of materials/supplies is essential for work flow and effective student learning. Organizers for student work are included in this project for the individual needs for student work and for at least 5 work stations and 5 centers.
Teachers need to have materials/supplies well organized and handy in order to maximize instructional time.
Student learning takes place in a well organized and comfortable environment. The items for this project will provide for the personal and academic organization necessary for daily classroom routines.
