I am a 4th grade teacher in a Title One Feeder school in Maryland. Over 56% of the students in our 4th grade class come from low income homes and come to school without all of the necessary materials to be ready to learn. Regardless of the challenges and difficulties, my students are kind, sweet, and eager to learn!
With a little help from DonorsChoose, I am confident my students can obtain the necessary materials that will help them to be successful in the classroom.
My Project
Ms. Kwon's fourth grade class seeks your help to keep us organized! This will help my students greatly!
These items will benefit our classroom by allowing students to be organized, responsible and independent.
Students will be able to have the job of "mail person" in order to organize papers that need to go home to each student. This will help to minimize confusion when handing out papers on desks because students will receive their papers in designated mail slots. Also, this will teach students to be responsible to pick up their mail each day to take home.
We are also in need of magazine slots. We have a plethora of magazines that need to be organized and sorted. Students can easily select magazines that they are interested in and responsibly return them to their correct bin.
Lastly, we are in need of paper trays in order to organize papers the students may need. Extra papers that they may need from either being absent or have misplaced, could be found in these trays. Also, the trays can hold blank paper and lined paper can also be found here. This would promote independence because the students would have the opportunity to get the papers that they feel they need in order to be successful in the classroom.
We thank you in advance for helping us to be more organized, responsible, and independent!
