My classroom is located at a Title I school in the W.C. School District. I teach self-contained preschool to young students with special needs.
My class includes 25 children with developmental delays or disabilities.
I strive to provide appropriate curriculum and support, with the goal of each child being prepared to succeed in kindergarten.
My students are active and motivated to explore new opportunities and materials. School is a place where they feel safe and accepted, allowing them to gain new skills and develop a love of learning.
My Project
This project will help make me make my classroom parent and family-friendly, allowing parents to help in the classroom and engage with science and math materials with their child.
This project will help organize materials and ensure that parents and students can independently and easily access items around the classroom.
It is my hope that by making my room more organized and easily accessible to all, that parents will feel more welcome to volunteer in our classroom and engage in their child's learning environment.
The bins will be used in our math and science area, making these areas of the classroom that can be intimidating, more welcoming and fun for all.
