Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 30 diverse students in Brooklyn, NY. My students are like a family and are incredibly supportive of each other. Half of my students have special needs and the majority of them are English Language Learners.
Organization is tough for grown ups, but it's especially challenging for eight year olds who not only have learning and speech disabilities, but also speak a language other than English as their primary language.
My students are incredibly hardworking and with the right tools they have the potential to achieve so much greatness!
My Project
Third grade is a huge change for my students as they are expected to manage much more academic content and do so independently. They have notebooks, binders, folders and other school supplies that they need to be in charge of throughout the day.
Every minute in the classroom is precious and a lot of time is wasted because students struggle to keep track of all of these materials.
With these seatback organizers, all of my students will easily be able to locate a notebook or folder at a moments notice!
I bought a few with my own money last year for my most organizationally-challenged students and they worked wonders! I can only imagine how much time a whole class set will save us!
