My students need composition notebooks and storage bins to facilitate creating interactive notebooks which will increase hands-on learning opportunities.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a group of 25 creative, energetic 2nd graders! They love learning and enjoy hands-on learning experiences. I teach in a Title I school in Little Rock, AR where all students receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Our school community strives to create a family environment where all students are encouraged to work to their highest potential.
Organizational skills will be emphasized in our classroom this year to help students monitor their growth with literacy and math development.
My Project
My students thrive with creative learning experiences. Composition notebooks will allow us to create and maintain interactive notebooks for literacy, math, and science/social studies. This will allow them to refer back to previous lessons to review information learned. The bins will provide a place for each student to keep their journals and maintain an organized work space at their tables.
Organization will also be enhanced with the use of parent communication folders.
Students will have a place to clearly identify completed work and notes to bring home as well as items that need to be returned to school. Parents will know to check these folders regularly to ensure they receive school related information.
