My Students

My students love to be engaged in activities every day. They love creating and working to their fullest potential on a daily basis. Overflowing with energy and wonderful ideas, these children are the future. They are the reason I come to school each day and have a passion for teaching.

I teach in a classroom where children appreciate learning and strive to be independent.

They love to explore! My school is a high poverty Title I district. My kindergartners live in a small, rural community. They are becoming strong readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists each day.

My Project

Currently, my kindergartners have all their journals, math pages, markers, and handwriting books sitting loosely inside cubby compartments. They sift through the various items, all the while tearing pages, encountering markers rolling onto the floor, and feeling crowded by classmates around them simultaneously trying to find their materials. This makes it frustrating for my kiddos.

School Smart trays will assist students to house classroom materials and tools in a more organized manner.

Easier access to these items will help students to feel more independent, as they needed items at the request of the teacher with better time management and no dependence on others. Students will be able to pull the whole tray out of the cubby shelf, travel to their work spaces, gather what is needed, and put the tray back. It's that simple!
