My students come from a diverse cultural and economic background. Our school is a small neighborhood schools that is a family in every sense of the word.
These students are the future.
They come form an environment where they are looked at and treated as if they are an adult, instead of a tiny person who still has so much to learn about the world. It is my goal to make sure they these kids get to be kids, and that they aren't looked over for where they come from.
I am hoping to have a more organized and efficient year! We are asking for a rolling cart so that I can store my supplies. It would be amazing to have all of the supplies I need in one area as I move around the classroom during the day for stations. I love that I can store items inside the cart and also use the outside to store magnetic bins with other odds and ends.
Our classroom runs on small group stations.
We teach all subject in small group stations. It can get a little hectic ( organizing all of the groups work ) but this is how my students learn best! ( I taught them last year in 4th so I have a pretty good idea on their learning styles. ) I am asking for two cubby bookshelves as well has colorful bins. This will house each groups station. Groups will be color coordinated so they will know which bin they need to grab when their teacher station is up.
We are also asking for other things such as Amazon Fire Tablets. I was blessed with two last year and my kiddos really loved them! We were able to get a lot of learning and review done on them. I would love to have 3 more so that I would have enough for a small group. Last, but not least, I am asking for a colorful Jenga. I have found a lot of fun and effective learning games on Teachers Pay Teachers that use this game.
