I teach the most incredible six and seven year olds. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Our school serves mid-town neighborhoods, students from a homeless shelter and safe house, and English-language learners from many different countries. We are all so different, and yet our class feels like a family. We challenge each other, learn from each other, and love each other every day.
My students are incredibly curious, inquisitive, thoughtful, hard-working, and kind!
They help each other out, learn from each other, inquire, share ideas and hugs, compliment each other and challenge each other, and come to school eager to learn everyday. I am an incredibly lucky teacher to have such a sweet, ambitious group of six and seven year olds!
My Project
I have first-hand felt the impact that organization has upon a first-grade classroom. My students enjoy that their materials are organized, in a specific location, and easy to use. All of my interactive phonics, sight words, and math intervention skills are easily stored in these task boxes. We are currently needing more 4 x 6 boxes to store our learning materials in.
These storage containers will make it easier for students to access differentiated learning opportunities.
More storage containers will provide my students with less time finding pieces to their activity and more time engaging in learning. We will use these task boxes to store our activities neatly in.
