Our class is made up of sixteen autistic students with varying abilities. Our day consists of reading, math, language arts and social skills. We also have scheduled various times throughout our day for sensory breaks to help students maintain their focus during academic times.
My students are very energetic and happy students.
They come to school everyday ready to learn and they try hard on each task they are given. Each student is a true individual and excited about learning new things. Everyday they work hard during academics but they also play hard during free time and recess. During social skills, the students get to choose a game or activity and are excited to choose an activity with their friends.
I am asking for donations towards a pencil sharpener and a file organizer. We need a pencil sharpener because we are always sharpening our pencils to help us create the most organized work when writing.
We also need a file organizer to help gain our independence at the end of the school day.
Each day our students pack up independently, but I put the necessary daily papers in their folders for them. They are getting to the age where they need to start doing more things for themselves. One way to do this is to put their folders together. These file organizers will allow each student to have their own space where they can go and grab their papers to put inside their folders.
