Please help my classroom replace these essential organizers that were destroyed in the recent tornado. My dream is to have a peaceful and organized classroom where my students can learn and thrive. I can do this through individual chair pockets for each student.
My students live in rural Tennessee and often life is hard for them.
Although there are many challenges facing my students they come to school to learn everyday and are excited to be there. My students are extra special to me because I have had most of them for two years. I taught second grade last year and moved to third this year. I kept the same students and it has been a wonderful experience. It is one of those classes that make going to work every day so enjoyable. Their excitement for learning surprises me daily. This is a class that every teacher dreams to have. The librarian and other teachers brag about what a special and respectful group of students I have. Please help me teach critical organizational skills to such a deserving group of students and future students.
My Project
I am requesting 20 individual seat pockets. These go over the backs of the seats and will help my students to become "clutter free". Right now, the tops of their desks are overflowing with workbooks and textbooks. The insides of their desks just do not hold enough. I believe students learn better when their workspaces are organized and neat. The clutter is driving both of us crazy! These seat pockets will provide extra space and help them learn organizational skills. The pockets will teach these skills to not only this group of students but future ones as well because I hope to get a couple of years worth out of these pockets.
This project is so important to me because I want to give back to my students what they have given me the past two years.
They have given love, respect, and job that I love waking up to everyday. This would provide them with a space to call their own and help with their everyday learning. The goal of this project is that my students will take the organizational skills learned with them to future classrooms, and even home. Maybe even one of my parents will get a clean bedroom out of it!
