My Students
My students are 3 and 4 year old pre-kindergarten students with various speech delays. Some of my students have developmental speech disorders while others have language delays, difficulty speaking fluently, or may be deaf and/or hard of hearing. They are from diverse backgrounds and they walk into class every day full of energy, excitement, and are ready to learn.
They are a part of an early intervention program which provides them with extra support before entering kindergarten.
Our goal is to help them become mainstreamed into a general education kindergarten classroom.
My Project
These bookshelves would help organize my student's lessons and materials. Currently, it is difficult for my students to find materials as items are stacked on top of each other and our storage space is limited. Our math center shares a shelf with science and our writing center shares a shelf with writing and the alphabet. I would like to dedicate a unique space for each of our learning centers. This way students can remain focused on their assigned center and the expectations of each center will be more clear. These bookshelves will help my students select appropriate learning tasks and access their materials more easily.
