I teach 11 15-year-old middle school students who are enrolled in a world-wide college and career readiness program called AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). These students may be the first to graduate high school and/or attend college or a trade school in their families, have great academic and behavioral potential, but lack the opportunities or skills to be successful in school and beyond.
Our students are incredibly special to me and my colleagues and their families, because despite the incomprehensible challenges that they face every day, they never give up if you care about them and bring out the best in them when they can not do it themselves.
Using binders is critical for Middle School students to learn how and why organization improves grades and performance. A binder system ensures better study habits, prompt assignment submission, and higher confidence levels for all students. Students have seen proof of this in their marking period grades and continue build strong college and career readiness skills for high school and beyond! I am very proud of their accomplishments and would love to see them bouncing around school with a brand new binder to finish off their middle school career magnificently organized.
Thank you very much for helping these fine young students!
