My Students

Welcome to my classroom. We are a small classroom with diverse needs living in a small Maine rural town. My students need supportive materials to engage their learning. Materials, which are hard to get from a small, rural, high poverty school district.

My third graders all receive free breakfast and lunch daily to ensure that their bellies are full for optimal learning to take place.

Despite their socioeconomic status, non-typical family lives, and the many challenges they face, I try to provide my students with many engaging and meaningful learning opportunities, so they may learn. Everyday school materials for their use, like pencils, paper, color pencils, crayons, and markers are supplied by me because most of my students cannot afford to purchase these everyday supplies. I want them engaged in their learning, not worrying about how they are going to get these needed school supplies.

My Project

Organization is truly the key to success because when you are organized, you are better prepared to meet life challenges.

Imagine what the inside of a third grader's desk looks like!

Papers everywhere, folders ripped and torn, broken pencils, crayons, etc.; everything in the desk just bulging out at the seams and your little third grader is sitting there, scratching their head, wondering where in that mess is the worksheet the teacher has just asked them to produce. They had that paper in their hand just a moment ago! This is an everyday scenerio in a third grader's life and it is quite traumatic for the learner and teacher alike.

I want to help my learners to become organized so they can focus on their learning successes, instead of worrying about where in their desk they crammed that important paper. These durable plastic organizers can help solve that problem.

My learners will store all their subject folders and notebooks in the organizers, freeing up their desk space for their pencils, rulers, crayons, books, etc.

Imagine how stress free their young lives would become not having to worry about where their schoolwork is! They could focus and concentrate more on learning then where everything is! Organization is the key to their success and these organizers would help my third graders become more successful at learning.
