I teach kindergarten in a loving and supportive elementary school. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 40% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is also ethnically diverse.Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, and Tagalog. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are as diverse in their academics. One way that all of these kindergarten students are the same is in their curiosity and joy for learning.
My Project
Each day I instruct small groups in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as collect work samples from students during each of these content areas.In order for time to be of maximum student benefit, teachers must be organized and ready to go for instruction.I am requesting this filing and storage cart to help enable me to keep all of the resources that I need to assist my students with acquiring necessary academic skills. I will use this cart to house small group materials, as well as to collect and organize student work samples (from our small group instructional time).
