My students need bins to keep their group work organized. Students will be able to learn responsibility and organizational skills by taking care of their own belongings.
"In a balanced organization, working towards a common objective, there is success." Arthur Helps
My students spend a great deal of the day working together to achieve the common goal of academic success. They spend a lot of time having group discussions and working together cooperatively.
I am a NYC teacher in a low income, Title I school.
My students are wonderful, energetic, and eager to learn children. They come from low income homes where little to no English is spoken. Although we have a very large school, 1200 children, every child is made to feel special and part of the group. My students look forward to coming to school every day. They love to read and learn new things.
My Project
My students spend a great deal of the day working on group projects that spread across a unit of time. These baskets will allow the students to put all of their writing, notes, and rubrics together at the end of each lesson. No longer will the group have to worry about one student losing his work or forgetting his folder. Everything will be together in one place, ready for cooperative learning.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by helping my students to develop organizational skills.
The students will use the bins to keep all of their group folders together. At the beginning of group work, group leaders will grab their appropriate colored basket and all their work, from the previous lesson, will be ready for them. This will eliminate wasted instructional time looking for folders and supplies.
