Our class is always ready and willing to learn. Our mornings are all about literacy; reading, writing, phonics. Afternoons are all about math, science and social studies but a time is limited and organization is key for a productive day
My students are the sweetest 6 year olds you will ever meet.
Mostly from hard working immigrant families who came to offer their children better education and opportunities in this complex world. Parents believe in our country's educational system and will make the biggest effort to help their children (even though most didn't finish school and most are illiterate). Our school is all for new opportunities and keeping a positive attitude about education.
We are a dual language program very exited about learning new things, creating, sharing, and growing.
My Project
Our school day is a very short school day. We are in the classroom from 8 AM to 2:20 PM. This includes our lunch hour plus our outside of the classroom periods like, arts, music and gym. This leaves us with just about 4 hours of instruction (barely) and organization is key to a fluent and productive day. We use kidney tables in our classrooms so we don't have anywhere to store our materials. My students need chair back organizers so they store their essential school materials for easy access.

Baskets are always falling off our busy tables when they are not taking up important space. In this time we have to do 45 minutes of reading, writing, science, social studies and 90 minutes of math so getting to our materials quickly allows us to swift routine transitions and less interrupting of our valuable time. My students need the easy to use chair back organizers. Please help us so we don't have to waste valuable time.
