My Students
As a special education teacher in a low socioeconomic Title I school, all the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My class consists of 13 students. My kids are faced with many challenges in and outside the classroom. They are academically two years below grade level. Many of my students come from single parent homes. Although my kids have varying disabilities (LD, Autism, ED and Mentally Handicapped), they are eager to learn and succeed. I want to provide an atmosphere that is safe, and welcoming. Help me engage and inspire my students by becoming a partner in their learning.
My Project
My classroom consists of tables instead of traditional desks. There is limited space for my students to organize their books and supplies.
Having seat sacks will provide additional storage for my students to keep their books and supplies organized and close.
It's essential for supplies to be close and neat since special needs children have difficulty transitioning. I cannot count the number of times throughout the day I hear, "I can't find my book" Having their books directly behind their seats will save time and limit movement. Help keep my students organized which in turn will help them to be more efficient. Thank You!!!!
