Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

There is a total of 58 third grade students( 2 STARS classes and 1 traditional class). Our school is a TZ title one school and majority of our students demographics is African American and live in poverty. About 20-60% of our students are receiving ESE support and behavior support. Our students have not experience a lot of positive exposure relating to the world around them. With the help of our community and other citizens our students will have the support they need to be successful.

My Project

The materials in my project will allow for students journals, individual folders and binders, and mailboxes to be labeled considering they will rotate three times in a school day. Students will also be able to use book totes to organize their independent reading books without having to carry them from one teacher to another, and lastly the test dividers will be used to provide accommodations for students who are easily distracted. All students and teacher will benefit tremendously from the items listed in the project. This project will also help decrease a financial obligation to the classroom teacher and parents.
