This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are young men and young ladies who live in the "most dangerous" city in the US as well as being labeled one of the "highest poverty rates." They struggle daily in many ways to make it to school, but once they arrive they are ready to go. We have breakfast together and then we are off on our learning adventure for the day. My students come to school to learn. They have plans for college, and to reach those goals we push every day to overcome the struggles they face.
My Project
Organization in a Must! is a project to help my students learn how to stay organized. We have new desks but the don't have any storage so things, papers, books, and pencils are all over the floor. The students have binders to help with organization also but now they need help with the storage aspect of organization.
Next year the students transition for every class and organization is a must, and WOW, do my students need to learn organization!
They try but is teaching them and supporting them with organization is overwhelming at times. So the seat sacks will help the students with another layer of organization. I can't wait to see all the supplies in their seat sacks and not all over the floor!
