This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the most amazing, loving, intelligent and caring second graders in the world! All of my students come from low-income families who do their best to provide a loving and supportive environment for these young kiddos.

Most of my students are bilingual; therefore, learning all the rules associated with the English language is a little more difficult for them.

But my kids love to learn and are excited to come to school every day! They put in 100% effort into all they do and I'm so proud of every single one of them!

My Project

As a teacher of over a decade, I've come to know how important organization is for kids! Even for second graders. That is a life skill that the kids will use forever.

In my classroom, I spend time not only building content area skills but life skills as well!

I feel they are equally important. The help these chair pockets will provide will be tremendous.

These pockets will allow my students to keep all their important supplies at an arm's length away. We don't have any storage at the kids' desks, so we need these pockets to hold their supplies. It also saves a lot of instructional time because the kids are constantly getting up to get their notebooks, etc.
