My Students

I have both a morning and afternoon class of 4 and 5 year-old students. My students have a range of social, educational, and language needs. Many children speak a language other than English and come from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Some children are identified with special needs including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, and physical disabilities. Most children at my school qualify for free or reduced lunch.

My students are engaged learners who love to read books, magazines, and poetry.

My Project

My students love looking at books - noticing details in illustrations, finding letters they know, and re-telling stories in their own words. They especially love our “book club” time where a group of students will each have their own copy of the same book. These storage bins will help them be independent and organized as they read with friends. Students will be confident in independently accessing their books - and they will know where to find them and care for them with these storage bins. Having portable bins that students can carry will allow them to have books accessible throughout the classroom.
