My students need to explore, research, and learn other cultures and about what is outside of their small community. "Education is learning what you didn't even know you didn't know."~ Daniel J Boorstin
My students work hard creating a design and a concept of an Anime Project.
They are wanting to create a book that reflects the staff and teachers that make an impact on them here at their school. They are good kids that are eager to learn and strive for success. My school is located in a small town and is near a military installation which gives us a wide variety of student diversity in our school. This diverse population is beneficial for everyone, teaching students about different cultures and life styles. The school has been in existence for over 40 years; we are one of five middle schools in our district. We house over 600 students and our students come from several of our nearby elementary schools and surrounding small towns. I am a special education teacher and the sponsor the Anime Club of 25.
My Project
My students are fired up to design and have creative ideas on design of the book. They want to learn more about anime and be able to research different types of anime. With these two Chromebooks laptops these students will learn about communities outside of their own. They will also learn different types and speak via FaceTime to animators or watch video of Anime.
The barriers that will be broken by having this technology will open doors into the students' imagination.
Some of these students have never left their city or state, and for them to be able to explore with technology will be priceless. My students are looking to add some Chromebooks to their classroom to research and discover outside of their small community. They also need a charging cart. They are great kids and deserve the opportunity to have technology other schools have available.
