Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is filled with diverse, bright, and happy students who come to school every day ready to learn and have fun. My students and I learn and grow at a tiny school on the windward side of Oahu, and due to our small classes, we truly are like one big ohana.
My class is the embodiment of "tiny but mighty." Despite the many obstacles my students face every day, they are a strong and joyful bunch who just want to learn about the world.
My Project
The materials and supplies I am requesting for my students would drastically improve the flow of our classroom. We currently have caddies that are not practical for our community supplies and result in the loss and "misplacement" of many markers, colored pencils, and glue sticks. The requested caddies and markers will also take up less place to maximize student learning.
My students love to read; book bins would make choosing leveled books a more natural part of our learning.
In order to cultivate an environment with a deep love for reading, my school strongly encourages student choice in literacy. Book bins would really help my students choose appropriate books that are not only at their instructional level but also one that truly interests them.
