This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the opportunity to teach Environmental Science and AP Biology to my students. These students are happy to be back on campus and receiving a face-to-face education. They are eager to learn and look forward to our classroom hands-on projects.

It feels great when I see my students excited to come into my class and ready to learn.

They are eager to try new things, and take ownership for their learning. I am just the facilitator to help pass on knowledge and encourage self-growth.

My Project

It is my vision to start a school garden. As their teacher, I want my students to learn how to: grow a flower garden, grow organic foods, learn sustainable gardening methods, and learn life skills.

Growing a garden can be challenging, fun, and very rewarding.

The tools will be needed to help get this project off the ground. This on-going project will give my students time enjoying the outdoors, learning about nature and its biodiversity, all while keeping science FUN and hands-on. This will be a legacy they get to leave behind for the next class of students!
