Music class is a great way for students to express themselves. My students certainly do this well. They love to compose their own music and play their music on the instruments within the classroom!

Their smiles light up the hallways and bring life to the music room. My students bring smiles with them each day regardless of what they go home to at night. They bring creative ideas to class and love to explore!
My Project
Orff instruments are a great way for students to learn how to play instruments and read music at the same time. Students are expanding their brains by being able to do two or more things at one time!
"Tell me, I forget, show me, I remember, involve me, I understand." By incorporating this into my classroom, my students will be able to build their musical skills while having fun!
Music class should be interactive and exciting. "Since the beginning of time, children have not liked to study. They would much rather play, and if you have their interests at heart, you will let them learn while they play; they will find that what they have mastered is child's play."
Students will learn step by step how to play these instruments while incorporating movement and song. We will build their playing techniques by interactively reading children's books, learning songs and playing the harmony to the songs we are learning, and reinforce new rhythms. This is a new way of learning for my students, and I believe that it will create musical memories that students will be able to build on each year in class!
