My students need Tenor-Alto Metallophones. Right now there are only 6 Metallophones available for all of my classes to use. I have approximately 30 students in each class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love making music, but they have limited music resources on my campus. My students come from a district known as the International District. Virtually every culture is represented in the district. On my campus, there are 45 languages spoken by the 1,026 students. Most of my students come from low income houses and depend on the school to provide them with the two out of three meals a day. The parents who send their children my school are hard workers and want nothing but the best for their kids.
My students are amazing, bright, and eager students who only want to learn and make their parents proud.
Their parents do not have the resources to put their children in private lessons, so when they come to music class it is the only way they can learn about music. My campus is in need of new instruments in order to give every student the best experience in music class.
My Project
The materials will allow more students a chance to play and enjoy listening to their own musical creations performed. The Metallophones will boost my students' confidence and allow to feel like they can achieve all of their goals.
The students will be able to practice reading music with the Metallophones and eventually they will be able to play to start improvising and writing their own compositions.
In return the students will gain joy and happiness from the experience.
The students will be learning music through Orff-Schulwerk. This approach combines music, movement, drama, and speech into lessons. The Orff approach uses rudimentary forms of everyday activity in a child-centered way of learning, treating music like a language. It is in this approach to elemental music making that allows children to explore new and abstract musical skills and learn by experiencing and participating in different musical lessons and activities.
