This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from an elementary school in Brunswick, GA. We are a Title 1 school with a large population of underserved students. The vast majority of our students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. Despite the challenges that my students face on a daily basis with meeting their basic needs, they come to school everyday ready to learn and to give 100% to their education. Our student population is very diverse and includes students from many nationalities and ethnicities. They are able to work well together and encourage each other's various viewpoints and cultures. This is a wonderful group of students who work very hard each day.
They are creative, curious, and have a enthusiasm for learning that is out of this world!
I am blessed each day that I am able to work with this special group of children!
My Project
Basic supplies like pencils, glue sticks, paper, and M&M's may seem ordinary to most, but to a group of underprivileged students, they mean the world! Your donation of these items will not only provide my students with the basics, but will also empower my students to be the best they can possibly be by producing their best work!
M&M's are used in countless ways, from understanding fractions and ratios to creating graphs and charts for visual learners!
Having wipes and hand sanitizer to keep our classroom clean will ensure that I am providing my students the best possible learning environment!
