Our school is in an urban area in Virginia. We take pride in being the most diverse elementary school in our district and represent about 30 different languages that are spoken by our students. Our students and teachers love books and make reading a special part of each day. Along with motivating our students to read books they enjoy, our teachers are always working to increase our students' academic achievement and social-emotional skills. We are proud of our school community!
My Project
Many students in elementary school study famous people to learn how they contributed to our society. Third graders are about to start their biography unit and need these books to help them learn how these people impacted us. These biographies feature various people who did many different things and represent various times in our history. They are easy to read and students will love the illustrations that are included. Students will get to read and learn about people like Martin Luther King, Jr., Helen Keller, Jackie Robinson, and Abraham Lincoln. These books will help our curious students love learning about our history!
