My Students

I service two elementary schools in rural Virginia. With a total of about 1,100 students combined. Many of our families struggle financially and our students often come to school without the essentials for learning. The average class size is 21-28 students per classroom teacher.

Students are often excited to learn and love when they get the hands on experiences to make the lessons come alive!

Students love collaborating and building communication skills while working in small groups to complete tasks and challenges.

My goal is to help build these life skills (communication, collaboration, and creativity) that students will need to succeed after their school career.

My Project

Magnets and electricity are a big part of our science curriculum. The activities in these kits will help reinforce those important SOLs. At the elementary level students need to see and do in order to fully understand scientific concepts.

Students learn best with hands on exploration, these kits will help my 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders understand magnets and electricity.

Imagine all the possibilities! These kits will not only help in science, but by collaborating with other students they will be building those important communication skills needed in today's work environment.

These kits will be placed in the Stem Lab and students from several grades will benefit from the resources and activities. I can't wait to see what my students create!
