My students need 3 Osmo Genius Kits to get started with the bases and starter games. I would also like to add some additional Osmo games to give them a variety of choices to challenge them.

My students attend a Title I school located near a military base. This makes for a population of very diverse and unique learners who are somewhat transient due to the nature of the military. These students move from place to place with a varied level of exposure and experience to curriculum and technology.
They come to school, each day, eager to learn, and they work very hard to reach the high expectations that are required of them.
They, combined with their civilian counterparts, help create an exceptional multicultural community of learners who collaborate and stimulate one another. I want to give them every opportunity to succeed and become 21st-century learners.
The use of Osmos within my classroom with allow my students to explore, discover and learn using technology in a fun, yet meaningful way. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to interact with technology at home; therefore, it is imperiative that they have technology as an educational experience within their learning environments.
We are teaching children today for jobs that do no exist yet.
This is something that resonates with me daily as I see how eager my students are when I introduce something "exciting and new" to them. The current technology they have access to has been in the form of educational games. Osmo offers a variety of games that allows students to use a hands-on approach with manipulatives. This type of learning will keep my students engaged and on task with rigorous activities. When students use an Osmo for learning purposes, the learning becomes magical. It transforms an IPad into an educational tool for students . Osmo promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills through their educational games. Students will work collaboratively as well as independently when exploring with the Osmo. This type of learning will help prepare them for their future as they enter the world on their own one day.
The Coding Jam game teaches students about the inner workings of coding concepts and how it is applicable to real-world experiences. The Word game allows students to engage in critical thinking skills and improves spelling. The Pizza Co. game allows students to use math skills in a meaningful way as they must use money and fractions. All of these games will help my students become productive members of society while providing them relevant life skills across disciplines to enhance their 21st century learning.
