Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a small, low-income, inner-city school within a large district. My students from grades 4-6 are unique and excited to learn. They come from various economic and cultural backgrounds. Many are English language learners who learn best through varied experiences.

Help us provide after-school piano lessons to support the development of our students' confidence learning piano, and performing in front of their peers.

By funding this project, students will have a fun, safe extracurricular activity at their school.

My Project

Last year, students participated in the OpporTUNEity Program to learn how to play piano from future music teachers/therapists from Anna Maria College. More than a dozen students boarded a bus in Worcester to go to the Paxton campus to learn and practice the fundamentals of piano and composition.

This year, twenty new students have joined our after-school music activity!

Due to the overwhelming interest, we'd like to expand our after-school music program.

With a donation of Williams Rhapsody Digital Pianos, we can provide lessons and practice sessions 3 additional days per week, throughout the year at our very own elementary school.
