This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are intellectually gifted students living in the heart of the Delta. Our district serves around 340 students enrolled in the gifted program for the 2017-2018 school year, 50 of whom are my students. They are my pride and joy, and I look forward to teaching them as much as I can in the short years we have together.
The INSPIRE gifted program offers students an out-of-the-box approach to learning.
The program is a unit based program that is self-driven by the interests of the students. Over the past few years, we shifted gears, changed the name of our program, and became more robotics driven. The first step is getting the technology to be technologically driven!
This year, 2018-2019, I will continue to be technology driven and even more focused on promoting social skills, tolerance, success skills, thinking skills, and improving metacognition in each student.
I would like to continue to grow as a positive and challenging program for our students. With the help of donors like you, I know we will continue to reach new heights!
My Project
I would like to help get our school six swings for our EMPTY swing set. I have worked at my school for 3 years now, and every time we go outside, there are no swings!
Help PES get swings for Brain Breaks!
Our school is full of personality. We have a multitude of abilities and also disabilities, which include ADHD, Dyslexia, and ELL students. Teaching can be hard, and we ALL need brain breaks and fresh air! Please help us get some swings so we can all have a clearer focus and mindset when we return inside. Brain Breaks and recess play a huge role in a child's development, and it is such a small thing that can make a WORLD of difference.
