Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As teachers we have the opportunity to impact the lives of future innovators, builders, and leaders. Being on a Title I campus, our students need extra support to help them achieve their goals. It is my responsibility to provide my students with experiences that will translate to real-life opportunities.
Our classroom is a safe place where students are encouraged to take risks and fail because that is their first attempt in learning.
We are a family who shares dreams, ideas, laughter and some times tears because everyone is encouraged to be their best version of themselves. We work hard to build essential life-long skills such as organization, self-awareness, critical questioning, and time-management which all translate to necessary skills needed for long-term success in a post-secondary setting. As a teacher on a Title I campus, I have accepted the challenge to find ways to provide my students with unique learning experiences and help close the opportunity gap.
My Project
Reading is a vital component of my students' educational journey. They are quickly developing skills that will make them critical readers and critical thinkers. The highlighters are necessary to help my students work on annotating various pieces of text. These skills will help them become stronger people.
Organizing tools are necessary for my students to be successful both in and out of the classroom.
The pencil pouches are extremely useful as they carry supplies such as highlighters, pencils, pens, and expo markers that are used in all classes.
The sheet protectors are used to collect and save all of the work students produce throughout the year.
