My students are joyful, creative, and inquisitive! My classroom is rich in diversity, both culturally and academically. I have students coming from multiple cultural backgrounds, each bring new views and exciting traditions to the classroom. Not only is my classroom culturally diverse, my students differentiate in learning styles like any other classroom.
I want my students to feel confident and empowered to be the best versions of themselves.
That is why we use different learning techniques throughout the day to best meet the needs of every student in our class. We also incorporate 7 Habits of a Happy Kid and Growth Mindset in our classroom to practice being the best "us" we can possibly be!
My Project
As a part of my classroom management, I spend a lot of time focusing on instilling "good habits" and learning the importance of having a growth mindset through the power of the word "yet". These resources will act as mentor texts to help model, teach, and reinforce the Growth Mindset (by Carol Dweck). The texts will offer concrete ways for students to practice these important skills and help incorporate these practices into their daily lives both at school and at home!
I want my students to understand and appreciate their mistakes and the growth that happens from it, because it is a positive attitude that will carry with them their whole lifetime.
